A: Thanks :) I am glad you enjoy this blog! And being an old soul is awesome, don’t let anyone get you down! As for your question, it honestly depends. Some of the more traditional skinheads don’t really get along with punks because they believe that they are “sloppy” and “lazy”. Others, more into the Oi! aspect of Skinhead culture get along with them just fine. Even though I am a traditional skinhead, I get along with punks and don’t mind them. Every skin is different! :)

Today I went to Barnes and Noble to buy a new Moleskine. To my surprise, they don’t keep them on the salesfloor anymore. They replaced them with an off-brand “eco-friendly” version that comes in a variety of colors. In order to get a Moleskine, I had find and ask a sales person to get one from their stock room (and it took her a while to understand which Moleskine I was talking about).

I rarely ever go out of my way to buy environmentally-friendly products. It’s not that I don’t care about the environment (I do care, actually… quite a bit), but is it really necessary to make my sketchbook-finding extravaganza that much harder than it has to be? Seriously. I only buy Moleskines. And I’m not the only person in Columbus who is particular about their notebooks.

Shame on me for going to a chain-based book store in the first place, I guess. If B&N wasn’t so close to my apartment, I wouldn’t really go there. I prefer the Book Loft in German Village. Oh well, next time….

Is it too hard to just use the reasonable facsimile? Borders had some moleskin-like notebooks on clearance for three bucks. Exactly the same. But cheaper. I myself like Moleskins, but there’s no way in hell I’m paying more for the same product. Art stores sometimes have good small sketchbooks, but those can be pricey. It can be kind of an adventure.

like (as it turns out) i said, the same can be applied by adding the word vegan* to things that would normally contain no animal byproducts.
